Peach Corps highlights mental health challenges in reproductive care for communities of color.
July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month
Peach Corps is Advocating for Inclusive Mental Health Support in Reproductive Care
Every July, we honor National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, a time dedicated to addressing the unique mental health struggles faced by racial and ethnic minority communities. At Peach Corps, we recognize that mental health cannot be separated from physical health, especially when living with complex, chronic conditions like endometriosis, PCOS, and adenomyosis.
For many in marginalized communities, the burden of these reproductive health conditions is compounded by systemic disparities, lack of culturally competent care, and the emotional toll of being unheard or misdiagnosed.

Chronic gynecological conditions often come with more than just physical symptoms. They carry emotional weight—especially for those who face:
Studies show that individuals living with endometriosis, PCOS, or adenomyosis are at higher risk of:
For women and individuals of color, these risks are even greater due to structural racism and limited access to affirming care.
✊ Why Minority Mental Health Matters in SRHR
🌍 Black and Latina women are more likely to be misdiagnosed or underdiagnosed with endometriosis and PCOS.
🗣️ Many women of color report having their pain dismissed or minimized by healthcare providers.
💔 Cultural stigma around infertility, menstrual issues, and mental health can prevent people from seeking the help they need.
